New arrival on the farm!

Our first calf of 2026 was born at 10pm last night, a lovely heifer and a very proud mum. Looking forward to more calves and then lambing from mid April.

Final five trees planted 🌱🌳

Over 100 trees planted across the farm this winter, strengthening hedgerows, shelter for livestock, and supporting wildlife and biodiversity for the future.

Now we let them grow and hope for better growing conditions this year, compared to last summer!

🥩 Farm Pop-Up Shop – Black Horse Farm, Slawston | Saturday 14 March
At Black Horse Farm, we produce home-bred, pasture-fed beef and lamb, raised and prepared with the care you’d expect from a truly artisan product.
Our animals are grass-fed on natural pasture and travel only a short distance to a local, high-welfare abattoir before returning to our on-farm butchery, where all meat is carefully matured, butchered and packed in small batches.
✔ Beef dry-aged for a minimum of 30 days
✔ Lamb dry-aged for a minimum of 10 days
✔ Individually butchered, vacuum packed and frozen at peak condition
✔ Ideal for stocking your freezer

Yesterday a few of our cattle had a light hoof trim, courtesy of Marcus the hoof care specialist. Sampson (our bull) looked comfortable as he was raised in the hydraulic handling system, enabling unhindered access to his feet. All done safely and calmly for the livestock and people involved.
