Stolen my sister’s insta post!
Bringing the last 200 of the shearlings home today to get ready for their new homes- sheep sales loom… the A4 move always gives me nerves but luckily I have several super helpful people to call on for traffic control and to point the girls to the gateways- they are pretty well trained so they look for a gate! Now I can save the rest of my nerves for the upcoming auctions 🤣

Well this is not supposed to be in here 🤣 the poor lambs aren’t quite sure how to react to this massive black sheep stealing their buffet!

In for some spot-on to keep the pesky flies away and to get weighed, then back out to the desert. They look great and have a good daily weight gain despite the incessant heat

The two balers finishing baling the straw from our spring barley, so that’s a wrap for harvest ‘26. Early, dusty, some yields were ok given the weather; some expected but disappointing given the year’s work that goes into each crop.
Time to cart the straw in then start getting ready for the sheep sales which start at the end of the month. And, of course, hope for some rain!

The boys and girls went out today- it’s hard to believe how little they were when they arrived mid-November, in the last post about them!
They’re not so sure about the rain, and would like to know if they can just pop back in until the wet stuff stops 😆

Looks like spring is here… cultivating in between getting ready for lambing, loading up seed for drilling, fertiliser spreading, topping as well as all the jobs to keep the livery yard running smoothly. Keeping senior farmer busy as well as putting in some decent shifts myself! 😴
