At last weekend’s volunteer winter woodland session we experimented with a new method for grading the lengths of willow. Lots of team work and great success!

Inspired by seeing traditional methods of sinking a barrel into the ground, dropping willow in and pulling out the longest lengths together, then the next longest etc.

A very sustainable container for our firewood. Made only from our willow in a two-day session with members Izzy, Bou and Theadora. Smaller models are available! We need basket makers to use up our willow every year - and we can make garden structures and sculptures too.

Wow - what a wonderful afternoon of creativity. We had an amazing group who all made an individual wreath using all natural materials, including our multicoloured willow and dogwoods from the community woodland.
A huge thank you to The Spring Gardens who allowed us to take over their back room for the afternoon.

Our fresh and fruity, cloudy organic apple juice is going into bottles - 120 of them! Those who donated apples can collect a juicy gift on Saturday, 11-1 and Sunday, 2-4 from us at 35 Compstall Rd. Or before our AGM on Wednesday 15th 6.30-7.15 in the Spring Gardens.
Didn't donate but a member? Buy your juice at £2.50 for 500ml.
Any left may go to local shops - watch this space.
Cider will be fermented and aged, on sale in the spring.

Thanks everyone for great teamwork at the apple pressing! We produced 180 litres which should make two blends of cider and, sooner, some bottles of juice. At least 20 helped out which made it fun.
