It all started with a leap of faith 🍺

Paul Theakston left the family brewing business and set out to build a brewery of his own in Masham.

Using salvaged brewing equipment and a former maltings, Black Sheep Brewery was born, with the first pint of Best Bitter brewed on 14th September 1992.

More than three decades later, we’re still proudly brewing in Yorkshire, doing things our own way.
