W**e of the Week: ChĆ¢teau Ricardelle Vignelacroix White 2023 šŸ¤

This week, Alistairā€™s pick takes us to La Clape, with a beautifully structured white from ChĆ¢teau Ricardelle.

Made from Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Picpoul and Vermentino, this Mediterranean blend is aged for three months in oak, adding just enough depth and texture without overpowering the freshness of the w**e.

In the glass, expect white fruits, bright citrus and delicate floral notes, with a subtle touch of glazed chestnut and elegant oak. The palate is fresh yet rounded, with a generous finish that makes this a brilliant food w**e.

Pair it with fish, white meats in sauce or blue-veined cheeses, or keep a bottle aside for a dinner where you want something a little more special.

From ChĆ¢teau Ricardelle in La Clape, Juliette 2022 brings together Syrah, Carignan and Grenache, a proper Southern French red with plenty of depth and personality.

Think black fruits, blackcurrant, spice and liquorice, followed by smooth tannins and a long finish with hints of chocolate and oak. Itā€™s aged for 15 months in barrel, giving the w**e that extra richness without losing its elegance.

This is the bottle for steak, duck, rich dinnersā€¦ or when you simply fancy opening something a little special.
