This week's producer spotlight takes a slight detour — because when something this good lands in the shop, we'd be doing you a disservice not to mention it.
Meet Hogs Back Brewery, based in Tongham, Surrey, brewing fine English ales since 1992. Their Three Hogs golden ale is a special limited edition brewed to mark the World Cup — a 4% ABV beauty made with English malts and their own Fuggles hops, grown in the hop garden right next to the brewery.
The label describes it as "a beer of two halves: refreshingly hoppy up front, followed by a balancing bitterness and a hint of sweetness to finish" — which we think is one of the best tasting notes we've ever read.
Yes, we're primarily a wine bar. But The Cave has always been about stocking things worth drinking, and Three Hogs absolutely qualifies. It's in the shop now in bottles — come and grab one before they're gone
