Welcome to British Pie Week!

What is your pie of choice? This is an exceeding good Apple Pie! I have to say ‘just for the photograph’… me and the pie can’t be friends! Childhood incident of mistake identity… meat pie with hot custard served to me in very polite company…. Never put me off custard! But always very scared of what might be lurking under pastry!

So there is absolute refusal of the steak and kidney, the pork, the chicken and mushroom, and a No No No to the shepherds… lamb lurking under potato….straight out of a horror movie in my world!

There are however two pies on my list! The Lemon Meringue and Key Lime! The fake pies, lid-less pies!!!

Today we celebrate the Oreo! The worlds best selling Biscuit? Or should that be Cookie? There are enough Oreo’s that exist to wrap round the earth 381 times…. But are they your favourite biscuit! They got to be pretty popular as today is National Oreo Day!

Well what a fabulous lunch!

The Double Red Duke was a excellent recommendation for lunch with . A little Gunpowder Gin and Tonic, Scollop to start, the DRD Burger and Fries for main… and then a Baked Alaska with Sea Buckthorn for dessert followed by fabulous Blackcurrant Jellies and Salted Caramel Chocolates with coffee to end a magnificent afternoon… will definitely be returning very soon….

Perhaps a celebration of the card game...?? but who doesnt love the BlackJack ... Lifes big question remains... why are they paired with Fruit Salads? After all where else is Aniseed paired wth Raspberry and Pineapple? I love a Blackjack from making your mouth go black to the danger of losing a filling, to its classic Aniseed flavour…. A delight on every level!

A Little Chocolate Soufflé?

So I made this chocolate soufflé using recipe in Indulge… it was a taste sensation….. however I probably should have pondered the volume of soufflé I was going to make before I started… I discovered that you can have more soufflé than you can handle!
