🗞️ MONMOUTHSHIRE & BRECON CANAL TELEGRAPH
🎬 Lights, Camera, Action on the Mon & Brec!
A few people have been asking what the recent filming activity around the canal is actually for.
The production is for a brand-new BBC comedy-drama called Better Later, co-written by and starring Ruth Jones and Steve Speirs. The six-part series follows two strangers who meet at a knee trauma clinic and form an unlikely friendship as they navigate life’s challenges and opportunities later in life.
Filming is taking place across South Wales, including Bannau Brycheiniog and the surrounding area, with our beautiful canal helping provide the backdrop for the fictional Welsh village of Brynfach.
It’s another opportunity for the Mon & Brec to be showcased to a national audience and a reminder of just how special this waterway and its surrounding landscape really are. 🌿🚤📺
If you happen to spot cameras, crew or familiar faces over the coming days, please remember filming is taking place and there may be occasional short delays on towpaths while scenes are being recorded.
We’ll keep an eye out for any sightings of Ruth Jones and report back if anyone manages to get Gavin & Stacey levels of excitement under control! 😄
