Did you know our cows can’t go straight onto rich spring grass full-time? 🐄🌱

As the grass begins to grow in spring, our herd is gradually introduced to grazing so their diet can adjust naturally. Over the past few months, they’ve spent increasing amounts of time in the fields as the grass has continued to grow and mature.

Now that summer is here and grazing conditions are ideal, our cows are out 24 hours a day, enjoying a fresh grass diet and plenty of space to roam.

Good grazing management helps keep our cows healthy and makes the most of the nutritious grass growing on our farm. ☀️💚

Perfect weather for ice cream ☀️🍦

Our Rhubarb & Ginger Ice Cream is available in the home freezer on the farm and has quickly become a favourite for the summer.
The sharp sweetness of rhubarb paired with a gentle warmth of ginger makes it light, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny day.

Whether you’re stopping by after a walk, visiting the farm, or just fancy a summer treat, it’s the ideal flavour to enjoy while the sunshine lasts 🌿

First cut of silage 2026 underway here at Winsbury Dairy 🚜🌱
All hands on deck today, working together to bring in the very best quality feed for our girls.

Silaging is one of the most important jobs of the year — grass is cut at its peak nutritional value, then quickly collected, compacted, and sealed to ferment. This natural preservation process locks in energy, protein, and digestibility, giving our cows high-quality forage to keep them healthy and productive throughout the year.

Timing, teamwork, and a bit of good weather make all the difference — and today we’re making it count 💪

Our not so little calves anymore, fully embracing their version of a summer holiday ☀️🐄 From sunbathing in the field to all-you-can-eat grass buffets and the occasional zoomies, they’re growing fast and clearly living their best lives in these warm days.

⭐️Did you know we entered the golden scoop awards back in January. ⭐️

Its a national ice-cream competition run by the ice-cream alliance. A panel of experts judge and score the ice-creams. Anything scoring a mark over 85% gets a star rating.

We entered 3 classes getting a 1 ⭐️with vanilla, 2 ⭐️ with strawberry and a amazing 5 ⭐️with the raspberry Sorbet which needed a 95% score to achieve.
This was the 1st time entering any awards with our ice-cream.

We’ve previously won gold awards in the international cheese and dairy awards for our milk and cream and also the cream has one a great taste award aswell. 🏅🥛
The golden scoop awards are an independent seal of approval judged by experts offering reassurance and trust !
