The wind is certainly making itself known this morning! 🌊💨

But we’re hoping that all this wind will do us a favour and blow those rain clouds somewhere else! 🤞☁️

We’ll be open today, but with revised hours of 11:30am–2:30pm.

So if you’re heading down to St Cyrus Beach for a windy wander, come and warm up with a coffee ☕, grab a bit of cake 🍰 or treat yourself to something tasty.

☕️ Your Saturday reminder...

You don't need a reason to come to Nicsnax today.

You don't need to have been for a walk.
You don't need to be visiting the beach.
You don't even need to be hungry.

You simply need to look at the clock and think:

“Hmm… I fancy a coffee.” 😂

And just like that… you're on your way. 🚗💨

We’re here today 11am–5pm with coffee, cakes, ice cream, toasties and all the other good stuff.

And yes… cake absolutely counts as lunch on a Saturday.

Now that is a scary figure... So proud that we do not use single use cups and that we have our own rent and return scheme...

Could you stop using disposable coffee cups this week?

Could you pop a reusable cup in your bag tonight to be ready to use tomorrow? It’s a simple change to make, at least every so often, that then just becomes a habit.

2.5 BILLION single use coffee cups are thrown away in the world every year!! 2.5 BILLION and it’s set to increase.

If you use one coffee cup per day, that adds up to 23lbs of waste per year. It can’t go on so let’s do our own wee bit and take reusable cups or choose to sit inside the coffee shops instead. Many places even offer a discount for using your own cup so you even save money. Win, win!

☀️ Well, I think it's safe to say that summer is coming to an end...

The school holidays are over (for most of us anyway!) and if today's weather is anything to go by, Mother Nature seems to have got the memo too! 🌦️🍂

We've had a fantastic summer here at Nicsnax, welcoming visitors, serving plenty of coffee, cake, ice cream and pizza, and enjoying some amazing sunny days by the beach. Thank you to everyone who has popped by and supported us over the holidays. ❤️

As we move towards the autumn and winter months, we'll be adjusting our opening hours to better reflect the quieter season ahead.

Our new opening hours will be:

☕ Monday: 11am – 3pm
❌ Tuesday: Closed
❌ Wednesday: Closed
❌ Thursday: Closed
☕ Friday: 11am – 3pm
☕ Saturday: 11am – 5pm
☕ Sunday: 11am – 5pm

Don't worry, we're not disappearing completely! We'll still be here at weekends with coffee, cakes, ice cream (yes, even when it's cold!), and all your favourites.

Here's hoping we still have a few more sunny days left before autumn properly arrives! ☀️🌊

☀️ Is anyone else making the most of this beautiful weather while it lasts?

The beach has been looking absolutely stunning this week, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that the sunshine sticks around for a little longer. 🌊🏖️

One of the things we love most about being here at St Cyrus is seeing people slow down a little. Whether it's a morning walk, an afternoon ice cream, a coffee with friends, or just sitting and listening to the waves, sometimes the simple things really are the best. ❤️

And if you're looking for an excuse to enjoy one more summer evening by the beach...

We've had quite a few questions lately about where our products come from, so today we thought we'd dedicate a post to the amazing suppliers who help make Nicsnax what it is. ❤️

From our coffee and milk to our ice cream, cakes and other goodies, we're incredibly lucky to work with some fantastic local businesses across Angus and Aberdeenshire. Supporting local has always been at the heart of what we do, and whenever possible we choose suppliers who share our values around quality, community and sustainability.

So throughout today's post, we'll be introducing the wonderful people behind the products we serve, sharing a little about their businesses and why we love working with them.

After all, when you support Nicsnax, you're not just supporting one small business — you're helping support a whole network of local producers, makers and family-run businesses too. ☕🍰🍦🌿

Let's meet some of the people behind the scenes... 👇😊

Our coffee comes from the lovely team Sacred Grounds Coffee Company, located in Abroath... You can order their coffee online for those that enjoy a good cup at home...

Our cakes from the fantastic Suzi Daze in Bervie. Suzi also supplies cakes and traybakes to other cafes around the area as well as having her own Cabana if ever fancy a snack on the days we are closed.

Our ice cream comes from Rizza's Ice Cream. Rizza's is a family run business that was established in 1914 based in Huntly.

Lastly we get our milk deliveries from . A family run business for 125 years, with depots in Dundee and Aberdeen.

We hope that you have enjoyed learning about some of the local people and business that you also help when buying local.

☀️ Sunshine is back! ☀️

After a few rather soggy days, it's so nice to see the sunshine making a return. There's something about a bit of blue sky that makes everything feel better, and we're hoping it's here to stay for a while! 🌿🌊

While we've got your attention... we've ended up with a small collection of lost property that's been left behind over the last few weeks. 👀 If you think you may have left something with us, have a look at the photo. If you recognise any of the items, just send us a message and we'll happily arrange for you to collect them.

To help us keep on top of things, any unclaimed lost property will be kept for the next 30 days. After that, any items that haven't been collected will be donated to a local charity, where we hope they'll find a new home. 💚

☀️ What a fantastic weekend! 💚

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to visit us over the weekend. The warm weather certainly brought everyone out, and it was great to see the beach and café so busy. We loved catching up with so many familiar faces and welcoming plenty of new ones too!

One of the highlights of the weekend was hosting our very first Beach Explorer Birthday Party. 🏖️🎉 It was so much fun seeing the children exploring, playing and enjoying everything the beach has to offer. It was a brilliant first party, and we can't wait to host many more!

We still have a few Saturday party slots available over the coming weeks, so if you're looking for something a little different for your child's birthday, we'd love to hear from you. Just send us a message for more information. 🎈

Unfortunately, the Scottish weather has reminded us who's really in charge! 🌧️ With the rain arriving today and footfall disappearing, we've made the decision to close early.

We'll be back open again on Thursday, and we're already looking ahead to Pizza Night this Friday! 🍕
