Clover underperforming? Start with potash.
According to the Potash Development Association, mixed grass/clover swards need more potash than grass alone. It’s central to nitrogen fixation in root nodules.
Three-year trials showed that applying 70 kg K₂O/ha each year increased clover dry matter by:
• 53% under grazing
• 72% where herbage was cut
That isn’t marginal. That’s transformational.
If clover is thin, patchy or failing to dominate, it’s often not a mystery. It’s potash.
Get the base right, and clover responds.
A balanced fertiliser such as Fibrophos PK Fertiliser helps cover potash, phosphate and sulphur in one approach, supporting nodulation and long-term sward performance.
