😊 Last night we had the pleasure of hosting an event to help raise money for the preservation of Newton-on-the-Moor’s Jubilee Hall.

🤩 A beautiful building with an interesting history, as well as experiencing recent fame as it was featured in the film 28 Years Later.

📸 We were too busy hosting the event and forgot to take a picture of the inside…so we’ve taken one off the internet (🤫 don’t tell anyone!). It doesn’t really capture how wonderful it is…so you’ll have to trust us on that one!

👍 A lovely evening with a great crowd as we explored some wines from across the globe. We are very grateful for the invite and hope to be back up there in the future!

🤩 Well, the results are in from our 🦅 vs 😇 Head-to-Head…..and the winner was….

🥁 🥁 🥁…….Saint Clair 🏆 ….but only just!

👏Congratulations to them and a HUGE thank you too all who participated last night. You were awesome!

☺️ Also, special thanks to who hosted the evening and remained completely impartial throughout!

💯As for the scores, I’ll put them below, but it came down to the last vote.

🤔 Interestingly, Bryce and I went mostly against our customer vote…which is interesting and slightly worrying at the same time 😂

👍 However, we are MASSIVE fans of , the winemaker at Lake Chalice and what she does. In our humble opinion, Lake Chalice and are friends at are the two NZ wineries that are hitting out the park and delivering at each price point across the board. Truly superb wines!

We hope to welcome Chloe to G&G in the future 🤞

🏆 But if there was a gastronomic World Cup, Italy will always be one of the favourites.

🇮🇹 A superb tasting of some Northern Italian wines with the amazing Jo from Fells.

🤩 Highlight was the Pfitscher Pinot Reserva Mayan 2022 from Alto Adige- a region that more people should know about.

🥰 One of the best wines we’ve showcased so far this year!

😳 We even tasted a wine called “GARY”….nothing to do with the ex-Take That member who seems to be flogging the stuff now.

👍 Moving away from Morpeth Wine Week for a second….lets talk about beer. To be more specific, Italian beer 🇮🇹

🍻 We’ve got a couple of great new arrival at G&G- Ichnusa Non Filtrata from Sardinia and Messina Cristalli Di Sale from Sicily.

🤩 A great addition to a scorching Bank Holiday. Don’t believe us, Italian cook and aficionado rates them both “S-Tier”.

Available at G&G now at a great into price of £2.75 a bottle for the Ichnusa and £3.00 for the Messina.
