Tranwell Coloured Ryelands We live on a farm in Rural Northumberland shared with our flock of Coloured Ryeland sheep, horses, ponies and a Terrier.

Ryeland Sheep are one of the traditional British sheep breeds. They're well known for producing excellent quality lamb and great tasting meat. Ryeland lamb is much sought after by rare-breed butchers, top chefs, hotels and restaurants. Hand spinners and weavers also seek out Ryeland sheep's wool for it texture and quality. Unlike some breeds of sheep Ryelands are docile and easy to look after, whi

ch makes them ideal for smallholders or people new to farming sheep. Ryeland sheep do well on a diet of good grass, without the need for additional feed. This means they are particularly suitable for organic lamb production.

Busy day at Cumberland show yesterday which was very well attended and very large classes - very proud to get a 2nd with our ram lamb. All our team were beautifully behaved and looked ever so smart. It was great to get back out there and catch up with everyone, Well done to Coxwold Coloured Ryelands for getting champion and reserve. We will be publishing the full results as soon as we have finished all the changeovers on the glamping at home. 😅

Yesterday marked the start of the showing season for us, Northumberland County Show and we are glad to report all the sheep behaved better than expected and placed in their classes.

Last night was the North East Tourism awards, where we were a finalist for Camping, Glamping and Holiday Park of the Year.

And we are glad to say we won Gold for the second year running! As you can see the girls were very proud to have been apart of this and represent our Sheep Experiences.
