This is the state of grass here currently after such a long period of no rain and hot sunshine. The borehole is holding up - just about! We are prioritising water for the girls so the washing pile is building up! We are looking into ways of getting used to these longer dryer periods as well as the strong storms we seem to get.

House martins 🙂 we are really fortunate that year in year the house martins return to the farm and build their nests around the farm house & holiday cottage. Every year swallows return and this year swifts also.
We do leave areas of muddy puddles so they can fix their nests and use it to build them.

We don’t knock nests down or worry about the mess they make - it’s only for a few months after all and seeing the sky alive with them is worth it!
We farm alongside nature never against and are proud to do so!

This evening we welcomed Crewkerne Cubs for a farm tour and challenged their leaders to make butter 🧈 as quickly as possible! I won’t divulge who won 🥇 😂 but the encouragement from the cubs definitely helped! Great for those arm 💪
