To whoever decided to steal the Gala Day signs from the road to Strathaven: you’re a real piece of work.

I personally took time out of my very busy schedule—and paid for my own fuel—to put those up all over Muirkirk. I don't ask for reimbursement because I genuinely care about this community and supporting small local businesses like mine.

Stealing these doesn't just affect me—it hurts every single small trader participating. We’re trying to build this Gala Day up for the community, using signage along the three main roads into Muirkirk to attract visitors from places like Cumnock and Strathaven. You have stolen around £120 worth of signage. You are honestly a piece of work (Facebook won't let me say what I really want to call you)

If anyone saw someone removing these banners or signs late last week or over the weekend, please let me know. If I find out who you are, I will have no problem sending you a bill and publicly naming and shaming you.

We have 250 ducks waiting to be sponsored, and every duck helps raise funds for Muirkirk Gala Day 2026.
