Furzedown Smallholding Welcome to Furzedown Smallholding! We are a smallholding family, living in Essex trying to live the good life and grow as much of our own food as possible.

Furzedown is a family run smallholding just outside Maldon in Essex. We are a family of five plus baby Patrick trying to live the good life. We have goats, pigs,sheep a selection of poultry and not forgetting Tilly the Dexter cow and her daughter Tulip not to mention the dogs and cats. Although we all have full time jobs, we have been growing and producing as much of our own food as possible for t

he last few years. Recently we decided we would like to share some of what we produce. So after having all our I’s dotted and our T’s crossed and having proudly been awarded a level 5 hygiene certificate,
We are now selling a selection of Jams, Chutneys,Jelly's, Pork and lamb boxes ready for the freezer and sometimes Dexter Beef ! We also produce sausages Hams, Smoked or Un-smoked Smoked cheese, and Turkeys for Christmas and lots more. We also have a blog where you can follow just what we are up to:

This weekends hatch 😃
Never fails to amaze me how these little chicks get out their egg it must be exhausting 🥰
But there they are dry, fluffy very hungry and ready to crack on with life.

Furzedown Lamb is going to be available mid June and the order book is now open

Our home bred grass reared lambs have lived a stress free life raised on good grass, sunshine and fresh air topped off with lots of love.
Our high quality produced lamb is predominantly grass reared.
Our ewes graze outside all year round, with access to their barn.

The meat will come ready prepared bagged and labelled to go straight into your freezer and butchered to your requirements

Half Lamb £90 to £110 depending on size and weight.
1 leg, 1 shoulder, Chops, Belly (which can be minced or stuffed and rolled) Including liver, kidney and ½ heart
Approx weight 7.5kg

Whole lamb £180 to £220 depending on size and weight
2 legs, 2 shoulders, Chops, Belly (which can be minced or stuffed and rolled)
Liver ,kidney and heart.
Approx weight 15kg

If anyone would like any of these varieties please just send a message and we can leave out for collection.
They are planted in individual pots now and coming along nicely 25p each
