What can I say about me... well I started cooking when I was very young, in fact I think I first learnt to cook rice and dhal when I was about 6 in miniature clay pots someone bought me as a gift, on a fire in the garden. Both my parents were Dutch Sri Lankan and both were prolific cooks. Not a day went by without one or other of them cooking up something experimental or traditional (and of course

spending a lot of time telling the other one what they could do better!). I have long held a dream of starting a food business but it was not until late last year that I found myself in the position of being able to do so and it took quite some months of thought and encouragement to get here. The name "The Curry Pincher" is derived from the Sri Lankan word for curry leaves, "Karapincha". My food is personal to me, and I'm really looking forward to sharing that with you.

We're back at on 19th June with our signature rice & curry bowl. You choose between coconut dal or chicken chilli curry and you get everything else in the bowl as well, a real feast for the senses. Unless the dish states it contains meat or fish, all our food is vegan, uses the best locally sourced ingredients and freshly prepared by us! .george will be sure to have some excellent tipples to refresh you and pair beautifully with the food. A roti bowl is a hand made roti filled with delicious things. On Saturday 6th we have a fragrant ginger and tamarind chicken headlining. For our non meatisaurs, we have a new dish of shredded jackfruit, cooked slowly in coconut and vinegar, until the sauce has reduced and clings to the jackfruit, it's creamy and has a lovely little sour hit. Both these are served on a bed of carrot sambol salad, with a spicy pineapple salsa and finished with a little coconut yoghurt sauce. A real feast for the senses! 😋

We're back! It's so good to be planning our next event, and we are super excited to be back at Boyce's Barrel, Colne on Saturday night from 6pm. Featuring our scrummy tamarind chicken roti bowl and for the vegetarians and vegans a new jackfruit roti bowl which has gone down very well with our taste testers! As always we have a couple of fabulous specials on till they're gone, so get yourself down, grab a table, and get the beers in! See you Saturday!
