We are taking orders for our fabulous meat boxes, ready for delivery next Friday!

🐖 Quarter pig box - £85
🐖 Sausages (6 per pack) - £5.50
🐑 Whole Lamb box - £175

Thanks to Rupert Broadway for these fantastic photos taken here on the farm!

The first photo shows a lapwing feeding in a field at Itchen Down near a sheep flock. It was part of a small breakaway group from a far larger flock of birds, and given we haven’t seen lapwings on the farm for many years, this is amazing news.

The second photo was taken last August of a Whinchat passing through on its southward migration. They don’t breed in Hampshire, but we do get a few passing through in spring and autumn. This one was on the edge of one of our fields.

Earlier on in the week we asked you to guess what we’d be planting in our agroforestry strips. Some good guesses but no right ones!

It’s daffodils! 🌼🌼🌼

Yesterday we planted around 2500 Daffodil bulbs in between the trees on 4 rows of trees.

Students from Reading University will be monitoring for any changes in the biodiversity compared to the trees without the daffodils.
This experiment is being carried out on five other farms across the south as part of PhD research.
