A group 4 winter wheat blend being planted this evening.
This is a home saved mix of three wheat varieties, that have been cleaned and no seed dressing added.
This mix has given us consistency in our yields over the last few years.

Busy morning in the yard! Prepping for more drilling and pre-emergence spraying.

Today Tommy was finally getting the AB16 margins planted. These environmental margins are sown in the autumn to provide habitat and food for pollinators and birds.
We've been waiting for some moisture to get these areas established.
If you're walking at Chilton Manor Farm look out for them around the permissible footpath.

Today I was drilling in Soldiers Trench, and it got me thinking about field names and their meanings. Any thoughts about this one?
