We were saddened today to hear of a Pest Controller being called to a colony of honeybees in a building in the area.
The bees were sprayed to kill them 😔
If you find bees in the structure of a building please contact a bee removal expert who will relocate the colony.
SOME pest controllers DO relocate bees but please check before employing them.

Swarming Bees

I saw a few bees checking out a newly-painted hive this morning so Cliff had a look inside. A couple of dozen bees were running around having a look then they left.

10 mins later they're back - with a few thousand more!! They were scouts looking for a new location to set up a colony 😍
Within 20 mins they were all inside.

The bees are busy, especially loving the compost around the bee balm. We don't know which particular nutrient they are collecting but there's a good dozen or so at any one time in that spot.
And helping me do more potting 😍 🐝

Our last Market for 2025 🤩
See you at Collingham Memorial Hall on December 13 with the last of our 2025 jars of honey and just 2 boxes of honeycomb 🍯🍯🍯
We do have soaps, made by a local soapery, incorporating our honey, and our beeswax 🐝🐝🐝

We'll be back at Collingham Craft Market in April or May or June, depending on the weather as the bees need to collect the nectar 😀
