Hello! I’ll be launching my wee project at the end of this month at 🥟 there will be street food style pierogi and a big lovely raffle with lots of prizes from local creatives and our favourite businesses!!!All of my profits will be going towards the people of Ukraine. The charity/account will be chosen closer to the time depending on the situation. The guys at Estate Tea Co have been kind enough to host me and open their doors late to yourselves, for everyone to have a bit of booze and a boogie and a scran! This is going to be a really big thing for me as I’m not only sharing my home countries food with you, but also giving myself and others the opportunity to raise money to go towards the people who need it the most right now. Whether that’s the Ukrainian army, air for refugees or rebuilding cities, we stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦🤍

So here’s a little bit about Pierogi.

These tasty dumplings arrived on Polish territories in the 13th century. The were imported from the Far East via eastern neighbors such as Kievian Rus, which is today’s Ukraine. They can be filled with many fabulous things, varying from potatoes to sauerkraut to juicy meat. Legend has it that the 13th century saint, Jacek Odrowąż introduced pierogi to the nation when he fed dumplings to the poor in Kraków following the Tatar invasion, so thank you St Pierogi Man! We wouldn’t be here without you.

Here’s a photo of some gorgeous pierogi filled with cottage cheese, potato, bacon & chives. 🥟 🇵🇱
