Hi everyone,

This is a bit of a hard post to write, but I wanted to be open with you all.

I’ve recently become very unwell with a diagnosis I was not expecting, and I’m now facing a longer recovery than I had planned for. Because of this I’ve no option but to close the business for the time being—there’s just no way for me to do it justice right now.

This journey we’ve been on together has meant more to me than I can properly put into words. Your support, loyalty, and kindness over the years has carried this little business further than I ever imagined. I’ve been in this business a long time, but the past 6 years especially have been incredible to have been able to build my own thing with you guys.

When I’m well enough, I’ll still be around in small ways—sharing recipes, a few reels, and working towards getting my cookbook out this year (it’s deffo happening!).

For now though, I’m focusing on getting through this and coming back stronger whenever that may be. Thank you for sticking with me ❤️

It’s difficult having to accept this new reality but I’m gonna give it my very best and I’ll always be grateful to each and every one of you who has believed in me for all the years!

Well… this is it 🤍

Our final days in the shop are here — this Friday & Saturday will be our last services before we close this chapter.

I don’t think I’ll ever have the words to fully express what this space (and all of you) have meant to me. From the early days of building this business from home, to street food, to opening these doors… it’s been a journey I’ll carry with me forever.

We took a small corner that was once just a corridor into a bigger building and turned it into something really special — a space full of life, good food, and community. I’m so proud of what it became, and of everything we created here together.

If you’ve been meaning to come down one last time, this is your moment. I’d absolutely love to see as many of you as possible before we close up.

Please pre-order via the website if you can — it’ll really help me manage the flow over the weekend and make sure everyone gets fed without too much chaos.

Thank you for every order, every conversation, every bit of support — especially over these last couple of weeks. It hasn’t gone unnoticed.

This isn’t goodbye, just the end of this chapter… and I’m really excited for what’s coming next.

But for now, let’s enjoy this last weekend and everything we have accomplished.

Lion’s Mane was one of the very first mushrooms I fell in love with when I started exploring functional mushrooms. 🍄

I remember being fascinated by how something so natural could support focus, memory and mental clarity without the highs and crashes of coffee.

That curiosity eventually became Karma Coast.

Lion’s Mane is still one of my favourites in our range. I use it on busy days when I need to stay sharp but calm.

My tip if you’re new to it:
Start simple. Add ½ a pipette to your morning coffee, cacao or smoothie and take it consistently for a couple of weeks. Mushrooms work gently with the body, so the real benefits come with daily use.

UPDATE INCOMING!

Hi guys, we realise there’s still alot of you who think we are closing this Saturday 14th (which was originally the plan but has since changed to Saturday 28th March)

But also think that we are closing for good - THIS IS NOT OUR INTENTION, we WILL REMAIN OPEN but in a different format - we are evolving the business model.

After so much research, thought and lots of decision making, we believe it’s the right thing for us to do - to keep moving forward.

We’ve posted details of our new project in previous posts but a little update on the dates can be read in the pics below.

We will be bringing out a new menu for our new venue The Barn Door, Kitchen & Bar with a booking system in place until we get ourselves settled.

A joint statement on all questions and queries you have regarding seating, if dogs are allowed, kitchen facilities & allergens, etc will be released soon.

You can still order through our website up until the 28th March and after a break over April you will see a new look website emerge in May with our new menu and a booking system.

M A R C H U P D A T E 🌱

Thank you so much for the huge amount of love and support we have received since announcing our sad news.

But do not feel too sad, we want to remind you guys that THIS IS NOT THE END! But rather an EVOLUTION of VEGANATOMY.

We’ve worked too damn hard over this past six years building up such a wonderful independent vegan business - Which is why I have made the very hard decision to close the shop and make some important changes, to allow us to continue moving forward.

You can find info on our change of venue in our previous post, but I will also be sharing more updates on this over the coming weeks.

In the meantime, we are here until the end of March (not 14th as previously stated), so you’ve got this month left to grab your favourite Bánh Mì or Sushi.

After a break over April, we will be launching VEGANATOMY KITCHEN over the first May Bank Holiday with a brand new menu!

More info on this to follow… exciting times are ahead 🌱

Exceptional food from a wonderful family run business. These guys have consistently adapted and evolved to meet the ever changing challenges in the food industry, especially in a small but dedicated community of plant based & vegetarian food establishments in Newcastle. They know what it takes to adapt and survive, and work bloody hard at that! But things really are difficult right now and it’s disheartening and exhausting to see so much of this happening every week. So please share and support our local vegan small businesses - now more than ever 🌱

It’s been really tough lately.

Business has been almost non-existent, and it’s making things incredibly difficult for us at Karma Kitchen — and for so many independent vegan businesses around us. With rising costs across the board and completely unpredictable orders week to week, staying afloat has become a daily challenge.

We’re seeing more and more small, independent vegan businesses closing their doors. Not because they don’t care. Not because the food isn’t good. But because the support just isn’t consistent enough to survive in this climate.

If you believe in what we do, now is the time we truly need you.
Regular orders. Sharing our posts. Telling friends. Choosing local. Choosing independent. Choosing vegan.
