We finished off at Doxford Hall Hotel & Spa. One of my favourite stays! From the rooms to the spa. The food to the gardens... I can't wait get back there this year.

I had one of the best Sunday carveries I’ve ever eaten down the coast at The Glass House Whitley bay, and it absolutely deserves a shout-out!

From the moment I walked in, the place had that welcoming feel you want on a Sunday—relaxed, cosy, and perfect for a big hearty roast.

The carvery itself was spot on. The meats on offer were roast beef, gammon, belly pork and turkey.

The roasties were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, the Yorkshire puddings were massive and golden, and the veg was fresh, well-seasoned, and not overdone. Big shout out to the gravy was rich and homemade. 👏

Proper Sunday lunch done right. 💪

If you’re anywhere near Whitley Bay on a Sunday, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Great food, great value, and a proper coastal Sunday dinner experience. I’ll definitely be going back!

Ever wondered what it's like at Spice Hut Whitley Bay? Us too! That's why we went last night. Hungry, and with eyes bigger than our bellies, we reluctantly ordered a sharing platter each. (Instant food coma) 😬😬

This is what we had.

Spice hut box - £14.99

1/2 chicken,
lamb doner,
Cheese burger
4 peri peri grilled wings
Fries

Loaded box - 14.99

Smash pattie burger
2 pieces of lamb ribs
2 milk tango wings
Mix doner kebab
Nacho cheesy fries

The food was great and value for money was fantastic!

If you're in whitley bay or anywhere near any of the food joints ... I'd definitely recommend.

A perfect night away in a top hotel was what we were looking for and that's exactly what we got at Hardwick Hall Hotel.

We stayed in a premier room on the ground floor with views overlooking the lake, free standing bath, his and her sinks and with robe and slippers provided, it didn't take long before we were 100% super chilled.

We booked ourselves into the Rib Room for our evening meal and I went for the
8oz fillet, (cooked medium rare)
Traditional grill garnish
Twice cooked chips
A choice of sauce - I went for the blue cheese and it was absolutely perfect.

A few double rums in the bar finished a class night.

Breakfast I ordered the full English from the menu. It was a nice change to be served Breakfast instead of a buffet style, but there was a section where you could help yourself to a continental style Breakfast, toast, juices etc.

This is the forth time we've been here and we will definitely be returning very soon.

We went for the two courses at £29.95

Starter

A selection of cold meats and cheeses
Salads
Prawn cocktail
Soup with sourdough bread

Main

Grass fed sirloin of beef
Thyme and rosemary Yorkshire puddings
Roast potatoes
Braised red cabbage
Cauliflower cheese
Maple glazed carrots

Finished off with a sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and milk ice cream.

Get yourself along! It's best to book as it was quite busy.

We went for a coastal Sunday stroll along Whitley Bay to heel the hangover, and just as it started raining, we were right outside here. The smell of a sunday roast was far too hard to pass, so I had to pop in.

I went for the Gammon lunch and upgraded to bottomless roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, and gravy.

Absolutely banging for the price!

The Golden Flake Tavern!

Greggs have opened their own pub inside Fenwick Newcastle and it's so good, we've booked up to go again in a few weeks time.

We didn't have long, unfortunately, so we just got a few snacks.
