Thank you Derbyshire Live for covering our story. Have a read if you'd like to know more about Rob and our journey creating Rob's Roast❤️
This is Steph Kelsey, her daughter Braxton and her late father, Robin - who Steph says inspired her and her brother to set up a coffee company in his memory ❤
Steph, 39, lives in Belper and launched Rob's Roast with her brother Simon, 37. The pair created the brand together to honour him having spent precious time with him after his diagnosis of a rare and aggressive cancer.
The family spent hours reminiscing over cups of coffee, and those chats led to the idea of creating a coffee business in his name. Robin was even involved in the shaping of the business before he died, sharing his valued thoughts on branding and taste-testing beans ☕
Robin's Roast sells ground and whole-bean coffee while donating a percentage of profits to charitable causes close to the family's heart. It has already raised £2,000 for St David's Hospice Care, which looked after Robin during his final days at the end of 2024.
Steph said: "Dad loved to travel – that's where I get my passion for travelling from – and some of my happiest memories are from the holidays we had growing up. In a strange but very special way, his last few days at St David's Hospice felt like our final holiday together as a family.
"We wanted to give something back, so donating a percentage of profits from Rob's Roast is our way of saying thank you." Simon added: ""Dad loved nothing more than sitting down with a coffee and having a proper chat.
"Because of his strength, we were lucky enough to have lots of those conversations, and that's where the idea of Rob's Roast really came from. I don't think he ever imagined it would turn into a business, but what started as a small, heartfelt idea has grown into something much bigger – a way to celebrate him, give back and hopefully make a difference."
