We'll be INSIDE the town hall in Bishop's Castle tomorrow, to make room for the Michaelmas stage. Do pop in and see the lovely veggies we've got for sale, all the summer favourites and some more autumnal goodies too! 9am - 1pm Saturday 5th September

Lydia will also be doing a demo at Newtown Food Festival tomorrow at 3:30pm, so swing by if you're over that way!

We're in Bishop's Castle on the 1st and 3rd Saturday's of every month, and Newtown, outside Hafan yr Afon, on the 2nd & 4th Saturday (for September only, then only 4th from October onwards), put it in your calendars and tell all your friends!

We are super excited to invite you to our Harvest Feast!
Please gather with us on Saturday 19th September from 4-8pm at Wern Farm to sample the delectable fruits of our harvests and celebrate another productive year.
There'll be lots of delicious dishes and delightful decor all from our produce, plus garden tours and entertainment.
Please email us on [email protected] to book a place at the table. We are asking for a donation of £10-£30 for the evening.

Farmer's Market TODAY - Bishop's Castle!

It's a bit cooler today, and despite the drought we have an abundance of summer produce headed to market; Tomatoes fresh off the vine, delicious courgettes and cucumbers, seasonal salads and cooking greens, mixed shapes and colours of peppers and aubergines, and even the first squash! We'd love to see you there, outside the Town Hall in Bishop's Castle, 9am - 1pm.

We have a market stall every Saturday! We are outside Bishops Castle town hall on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month and outside Hafan yr Afon in Newtown on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. 9am to 1pm. Come and try some of our wonderfully chemical free and farm fresh produce!

Despite the pleasure of the summer sunshine, we're still waiting for some proper rain. We've been working hard to keep the crops watered, but after such a long dry spell we've inevitably lost some harvests to the drought. We're doing everything we can to keep the vegetables thriving and are very grateful for your continued support.

On a brighter note, we've been delighted to get the Birmingham project up and running this month. We've been sending large wholesale deliveries of fresh vegetables to Birmingham, where children are using them in school holiday activities to learn about seasonal British produce and cook delicious meals together. It's been wonderful to know our vegetables are helping young people connect with fresh, local food.

Although summer is still in full swing, we're already beginning to plan for the months ahead. As the days slowly start to shorten, we're ordering seeds and carefully planning our winter beds to keep fresh produce growing through the cooler seasons.

When tomatoes are at their best, they don't need much to shine.

Place a handful of ripe tomatoes in a baking dish with a few cloves of garlic, a drizzle of olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Roast at 180°C for 20–30 minutes, until the tomatoes are soft and bursting with flavour.

Spoon the warm tomatoes over thick slices of toasted sourdough, crumble over a little feta or goat's cheese if you have some, and finish with fresh basil or parsley.

A simple lunch or light supper that lets fresh summer tomatoes do all the talking.

Our Summer Nature day went brilliantly. We welcomed lots of local people onto the farm on Saturday and we had a great time in the sunshine.

Highlights included: Looking at what moths we found in our overnight moth trap from the night before, exploring to see what bugs we could find in the long grass, measuring trees, birdspotting, a tour of the farm and of course lunch.

Thanks to everyone who came and supported us and shared their passion and knowledge for nature with everyone else who attended. Hope to see you all at our next event.
