This handsome fawn boy was born to Lulu this morning, weighing in at a whopping 11.8 kg. Now dry, bright and nursing well, he’s off to an excellent start.
Meet Ashtonelle Locksmith. He is cria number 5 this year and the 4th boy so far.

It’s hard to believe this wee man was less than 48 hours old in this photo.
Born at just 317 days gestation, he’s gaining weight, racing around the paddock and joining in with the older cria as though he’s always been here.
After all that excitement, even Lickety Split needs a little lie down. . . . .

We’ve been keeping a close eye on several overdue mums, waiting patiently for baby number 4 to make an appearance…
Then Dolly Daydream decided to surprise us by going into labour three weeks early.
Thankfully, she made it look easy. After a very quick delivery, her little boy arrived weighing a healthy 8.1 kg. Despite his early arrival, he was on his feet within 15 minutes and at the milk bar shortly afterwards.
Meet Ashtonelle Lickety Split — “Splitz” for short. Some babies keep you waiting. Others arrive Lickety Split.

Cria watch continues… 👀🦙

Still no new arrivals, but Wagtail was on hand last night to supervise the bedtime checks under moody sunset.

While baby Larkin has been staying (& playing) in the maternity paddock with his mum and aunties, cria numbers 2 and 3 have been enjoying a little extra TLC in the shed and nursery paddock, safely sheltered from the dreadful weather.

Both babies are doing really well and steadily gaining weight. Eddie, in particular, has developed quite an appetite and has been getting a few supplementary bottles. I’m not sure if their fluorescent cria costs are the height of alpaca fashion but I think they are adorable and are doing a great job of keeping them warm and dry.

Baby #3 arrived yesterday in the rain and has been contending with the rain today (hence his fluorescent jacket). Meet Eddie! Limited Edition as he is spotty under his jacket!

Little Hari was pleased to see Auntie Fiona this weekend. Lots of kisses!

And the newest member of the herd is a little girl - LT. mum and baby are now in the shed given the rain that’s due later but both doing really well. . . .
