🌳 Last week, we planted a new batch of trees with the help of Anya and the homeschoolers, as part of their forest school!

These trees will fill an unused gap providing shelter for a shed and opportunity for the cows to browse at the edge of the field.

A huge thank you to , who funded these trees through their brilliant initiative supporting nature-friendly farming locally. Thanks to Rob and Louise and their customers these trees now have a home, right here on the farm.

Seeing local businesses, young people, and farmers working together like this is exactly the kind of project we love to be part of! 💚

Big news: FREE school visits at Buckwell Organic! 🌿🐄

We’re excited to be part of the Beacon Farm Network with and , opening our gates for hands-on, curriculum-linked farm learning. 🙌

At Buckwell, we farm organically and in harmony with nature.

🍀 Look closely... this little leaf does a big job.

Clover is one of the quiet heroes of our organic pastures. Unlike chemical fertilisers, which aren’t allowed in organic farming, clover naturally fixes nitrogen from the air into the soil. That nitrogen then feeds the grasses around it, keeping our fields green, diverse, and thriving without artificial inputs. (Or it would if we didn't have so little rain this year!)

Healthy soil means healthy grass. And healthy grass means healthy cows. It's a simple chain powered by a humble plant doing what it was designed to do.

🌿 At Buckwell, our cows move onto fresh grass three times daily. Short, sharp periods of grazing followed by long periods of rest, keep our pastures lush, our soil alive, and our cows full of the good stuff nature intended.
