We want to supply beers that Northampton has never seen before. Therefore we are very proud to introduce to you - The 86 Bottle Shop. You can usually find us one Saturday of the month at Northampton market square. We'll announce it on our page when we're here! The 86 was created when we started drinking beer together. The only stuff we could get our hands on was in the mediocre ale selection stock
ed in the local supermarkets. This was way before the craft beer revolution took off. Our ideas evolved, we had some crazy brewing sessions and the beers got bolder. Even as brewing injuries were sustained, we were left heavily inspired by the ever growing beer scene. And so we decided that we wanted to start a brewery and bar to go with it. The 86 Brewing Co. was born. James took up employment with a brewery in London, and Steve’s house in Northampton became our base of operations. We started to take the art of brewing a little more seriously although the journey still encountered countless c**k ups and funny mistakes. So this was the plan, what the hell are they doing? Simple: We want to make our ideas a reality for more people to enjoy beer like us and push the boundaries further with really interesting recipes. And this is how we plan to do it. So do we get a giant bank loan? Crowdfund? Hostile Takeover? Cross our fingers and buy a lottery ticket? We decided to go back to basics. After discussing ideas ranging from the realistic to the ridiculous, we came to the conclusion that starting a small business in the heart of Northampton is what we want to do.
