A wedding for four? 🙌🏻

When Adam approached and enquired for a wedding cake but there would be no best man, maid of honour, guests, venue coordinator, venue dresser etc it blew my mind 😅
Then we arrived at The Love Shack last weekend and fully grasped why.

It was our first elopement wedding! And do you know what? I fell in love with the idea of just your closest people being there to celebrate with you. All Adam & Robyn had with them to celebrate was their two gorgeous children, what more could you want?

The Love Shack is like nothing I’ve ever seen before, picturesque views, cosy cabins settled within the woods of a personal home. Mum and I could have walked round there all day!

“Hi steph just want to thank you for the cake. You have genuinely out done our expectations the cake Is stunning. Thank you for being a part of our day it was amazing start to finish and tasted amazing 🤣🤣 Our photographer has asked for you preferred social media info so when she posts pictures she can tag you!! A 30th birthday deserves a showstopper 🤍✨

This celebration included a bespoke statement cake alongside 60 matching cupcakes, all designed to tie together in soft blush pinks, warm neutrals, delicate florals and touches of gold.

I absolutely love creating a full display like this, seeing all of those individual details come together at the venue makes such an impact.

And of course, the best part of the reel has to be working your way through all 60 cupcakes before finally revealing the cake! 😍

I don’t feel old enough to be called a lady 😂 but here we are!

My nail lady’s ( are you old enough to be a lady?! 🤣) daughter calls me ‘the cake lady’ and I saw a post from another cake baker the other day, asking the question “What am I saved as in your phone?”

So I want to know 👀
What am I saved as in your phone?? 😂

When the bakery isn’t big enough for a photo studio too, we have to improvise!
I absolutely love the grids when all the cakes have the same aesthetic background and you instantly know whose cake they belong to.
Us, we have to make do with what we have 😂

In this case, this celebration cake was so bright and colourful we just had to show her off in broad daylight, and even that was a challenge!

Eventually I found the right angle, an ok background (we all know now we bake on the farm, who doesn’t love farm buildings!) and the light just shows off her colours perfectly!

From celebrating a baby on the way… to celebrating his very first birthday. 🤍

This is one of those parts of Merryfall Cakes that means so much to me.

We first got to create a cake for this lovely family for their baby shower last year and then had the absolute honour of being asked back to make their little boy’s first birthday cake.

I love that this business allows us to do life alongside our customers.

We’re there for the baby showers and first birthdays, then the christenings, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and all those celebrations in between. And hopefully, as the years go by, we get to keep being invited back for the next chapter too.

It’s easy to think that we just make cakes, but these cakes end up in family photographs, sitting in the middle of celebrations and becoming a little part of memories that will be looked back on for years to come.

And that really is such an honour.

So thank you to every family who chooses Merryfall Cakes, comes back year after year, and lets us play a small part in your story. 🤍

We turned 3 on Friday, and yes I completely forgot! What a great Director I am 🤣
Take a look through of what we’ve achieved the last 12 months 🤍

We’ve had the most successful year of wedding cakes, we started off doing wedding cakes and they were few and far between. Mostly doing them in ‘the season’, the last 12 months we’ve had at least two weddings a month 🙌🏻
We absolutely adore each and every one of our couples that have trusted us with their wedding cakes, it’s an honour I don’t take lightly and still can’t believe we get to do this as a job! 🤍

Celebration cakes, our bread and a butter. What we do day in and day out and absolutely love being part of your special occasions. From birthdays to funerals, baby showers to Hen Parties, we’ve done them all this year 😍

We started off doing baking parties for kids, but why should adults miss out?!
We did our first adult & child baking party hosted at Number 9 with Relentless Church’s Kids Team 🙌🏻
I think the grown ups had more fun than the kids!
Definitely something we want to relaunch the next 12 months for adult parties 🎉

SpongeBob & other sculptured cakes made their appearances this year, each one I do I get more confident with and push my boundaries a little further afield!

Winter is coming. Winter came. Winter nearly finished us in all honesty. It was the first winter whereby the business had to sustain both of our wages, the poor timing of launching Christmas meant everyone had paid for their Christmas orders in October and no cash flow in December.
Lessons were definitely learnt and won’t be repeated this year (I haven’t even looked at Christmas yet 🤣)
But God is good, He provides and we are still standing and growing 🤍

February saw us being invited by Stix & Stems to Iscoyd Park for their styled shoot.
It felt like a full circle as 5 years earlier, I had delivered my first ever wedding cake there 🥹
We’ve built our relationships with Iscoyd Park and the amazing team there and look forward to being at their open day in October!

We launched The Cake Bar! Think Icecream van but for cake. She’s been out a couple of times but her time will come next year when she heads to her

A combination of Brownies, Blondies, Cupcakes, Macarons & Traybakes, all chosen flavours of the couple.

The guests were like vultures, trying to get a piece before we had finished setting it up 😅
