We have now sold out of the 2025 honey from our two apiaries. Hopefully if the bees do their thing we may have some 2026 honey in the summer. We like many beekeepers have had significant colony loss this winter loosing 8 of the 9 colonies we had. These will naturally build up but harvesting honey will be a challenge this year.

Not quite this bad in the Aipiary but the bees are in full winter mode, clustering to keep warm and saving stores. The season has started though with days getting longer the queen will soon be laying and the colonies building up.

Thank you for posting this. We are the beekeepers and we need people to keep a lookout for this insect. Now whilst any new hornet queens are trying to find a place to hibernate and in spring when they start to emerge. We need to protect all of the pollinators particularly the solitary bees and wasps.

Hi everyone! We have just had a very informative visit from some lovely local beekeepers about Vespa veluntina ( known as the Asian hornet)

It is a highly aggressive predator of native insects that poses a significant threat to honey bees and other pollinators

You can report sightings with a photo using the app: Asian hornet watch, online at nonnativespecies.org/asianhornet or by email [email protected]

Please share and spread awareness!
