This post is all meant in jest …. I sold cheeky Jack this spring to a guy in Kent who wants him for crossing on his Guernseys…. I stumbled on a video on FB ……I do hope he isn’t getting up to no good now he’s been with his ladies!!

Oh and we are all clear now after the compulsory TB testing….!

Dont you just love TB testing….. yes I got a pocket full! I got some funny looks at the chainsaw repair shop ….especially when I went to pay…..

So we’ve been hit with TB testing at Shepherdswell a year early…. (an admin thing say no more) . So “little miss tricky to catch “ and Eric the cowboy steer are both done and clear…. All packed up and on to the big lot…. Please be good Billy!!

Well thats the first batch of cattle TB tested with an all clear!!
Mobile cattle pen loaded and ready to set up for round 2 next week!!

So a while back a guy ask me if I had a Gloucester bull I’d sell him….. i told him I had one, a pure bull but not pedigree. He said he didn’t mind as he wanted to cross breed on his Guernsey cows.
He requested a fertility test ….. so today was a new one on us as we tested Cheeky Jack for fertility…. I got the job of holding the electrode probe thingy…. He was remarkably quiet seeing as he hadn’t been in a crush before (my birthday shopping purchase) bit of a bad start as the vet said she needed access to his bits….. so after a bit of angle grinding a access hatch was created and a sample was taken! Great news he’s fertile ! The vet said he also has a good set on him too!!
So he’s off very soon to a new life in Kent!

Busy week this week ….. topped off by this little fella….. last calf of the 25/26 season by Julia … her first …. Meet Ernest …. He’ll get called Ernie I’m sure !
