Two categories that always give our judges plenty to talk about… IPA and Lager 🍺

They might be familiar names on a beer list, but there’s certainly nothing predictable about the winners this year.

From crisp, beautifully balanced lagers to IPAs showcasing everything we love about the style, these are the beers that rose to the top of their categories at the World Beer Awards 2026

It’s always great to see where the winners come from too - different breweries, different countries and very different approaches to brewing.

So, here are our Country and World’s Best Style Winners for IPA and Lager 🏆

This is what winning at the World Beer Awards means. 🏆🍺

We caught up with one of this year’s winners just after the results were announced – and we love hearing what an award like this means to the people actually making the beer.

There’s a huge amount of work behind every bottle and can that reaches our judging tables. So seeing someone standing there with not one, but two World’s Best awards is a pretty special moment.

Time to give some of our 2026 winners their moment 🍺🏆

We’re starting with Dark Beer and Flavoured Beer, and there are some seriously good beers in this line-up.

Belgian classics, big dark ales, smoke, pear, coffee, honey, spice… these two categories alone show just how much variety there was on the judging tables this year.

Each of the beers in this carousel came out on top in its country and style, so a very big congratulations to all the breweries behind them. đź‘Ź

A lot of tasting, a lot of discussion and more than a few difficult decisions... 🍺👀

This is what the final stages of the World Beer Awards 2026 looked like.

Bringing together people who really know and love beer is one of our favourite parts of the awards. From the concentration around the judging tables to finally revealing the results, there were plenty of moments worth capturing. 🍻

To every brewer who sent us a beer this year, thank you for being part of it. And to our judges, and everyone working behind the scenes, thank you for making it happen.

A few highlights from Wednesday’s World Beer Awards final tasting and awards announcement.🏆

Our judges came together for one last tasting, with plenty of discussion (and some very tough decisions!) before this year’s World’s Best winners were finally revealed. 🍻🌍

It was brilliant to have so many brewers, judges and friends from across the industry together to celebrate this year’s winners.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and to our judges for all the time and care they’ve given throughout the competition.
