But there’s just one little problem… they need names! 🤭 We have three girls and the ginger goat is a boy!

🍂 EAT THE SEASONS! 🍂

Autumn is certainly starting to show its colours here at Harker’s Farm Shop, and our counters are filling up with some fantastic new-season produce. 🥕🥦🍎

🦆 Fresh game this week — we have fresh partridge and wild duck (mallard) available.

🥩 Fresh ox cheek is also on the counter this week (we always have it available in the freezer too!) — perfect for those slow, comforting autumn dishes.

🥦 Our local farmer in North Notts has delivered some fabulous vegetables this week:
🌱 Romanesco cauliflowers
🥦 Beautiful broccoli
🥬 Huge, vibrant Savoy cabbages
💜 Purple sprouting broccoli
🥕 Superb bunch carrots
🌿 Locally grown kale

🎃 And the pumpkins and squashes have started to arrive! The Crown Prince squashes are magnificent, alongside the ever-popular spaghetti squash — perfect for autumn cooking. 🍂

🍎 English apples are also in abundance at the moment, including delicious Russets and Cox apples.

There really is something rather special about eating with the seasons — enjoying produce when it’s at its best, supporting local growers and farmers, and supporting your local independent farm shop at the same time. ❤️

So why not embrace autumn, get the slow cooker or stew pot on, and enjoy some proper seasonal food? 🍂🥘

🦴 Something a little different this weekend! 🥩

We’re now stocking bone marrow canoes (in the freezer). These are split lengthways to expose the rich, buttery marrow, making them super easy to roast and enjoy straight from the bone. 🤤

They’re incredibly versatile too — try spooning the roasted marrow onto hot toast, adding it to a steak, or using it to enrich broths, gravies and sauces. A real treat for meat lovers! £3 Each

🦃 If you fancy something a little different this weekend, we also have fresh boneless turkey breast joints on the counter.

🍎 In season: our Discovery new-season English apples are looking fantastic as are the Kentish Victoria plums and the Turkish figs are particularly good this week!
