Christening cake for my cousins Rhys Jack Hughes and Ellie’s Baby.

Latest cake, was given a brief of elegant and a little bit extravagant, so came up with this.
Thanks to my friends Faye Mason & Craig Wilkinson for trusting me to do your wedding cake.
As a self taught hobby baker and cake decorator i always want to try something different and try and utilise some of the skills I’ve learnt over the years and to learn new things.
This four tier cake consists of a 10” & 6” with 3 layers of lemon sponge in each, lemon buttercream and lemon curd, covered in white chocolate ganache and white fondant.
The 8” & 4” consists of 3 layers of raspberry sponge in each, raspberry buttercream and raspberry jam, covered in white chocolate ganache and white fondant.
The simple but challenging sails/fans or napkin style (people had different thoughts what they are) are edible made from white modelling fondant and tipped off with gold petal dust liquid. Really pleased with the outcome and fitted in well with the wedding theme and venue.

2025 Christmas cakes all done, kept it quite simple this year due to time, but all traditional fruit cakes baked back in September and fed with a drop of brandy each week 😀
