We are pleased to announce that Batemans Brewery and Grainstore Brewery will be joining the beer festival family this year!

Joining Oakham Ales, Ossett Brewery, Thornbridge Brewery and Nene Valley Brewery on their indiviudal Brewery Bars, this year we will be introducing shared Brewery Bars.

Batemans Brewery is excited to join this year’s Festival! Don’t miss tasting their flagship award-winning Triple XB, a rich and malty tawny ale, alongside the classic Batemans XB, a perfectly balanced amber English Pale Ale. Come celebrate great beer and enjoy these exceptional brews with us!

Congratulations to the ‘Grainy VII’ captained by the tactical genius Dave Grieve who put the mighty Ryhall Cricket Club to the sword with a comprehensive first round victory in the Stamford Over 40’s 7’s Competition 🏏

Match Report:

Opening the bowling from the bottom end, Jammy Farr delivered a career best bowling spell cleaning up Ryhall’s top order taking a hat-trick with his first 3 balls. ‘Magic’ (Dave Hudson) then followed it up in the middle overs by pe***ng Ryhall back with a brace of wickets and a well taken run-out after some quick thinking by the ‘Cat’ (Gary Rix) who then proceeded to take a stunning one handed catch giving Nathan Bottomley a well deserved wicket. Another mention has to go out to ‘Sniper’ (Matt Smith) for putting in a superb drinking performance at the Beer Festival running alongside the event, before taking to the field.

So the chase was on with a modest 47 runs required for victory.

Will Davis and Gary Rix opened the batting and wasted no time in knocking off the required runs in only 20 balls with a series of majestic strikes all round the ground.

🏴‍🏴‍☠️ The infamous Black Dog has pillaged a bottle of Ten Fifty Spiced Rum as he prepares to set sail for adventure.

The infamous pirate is being brought to life by our good friend and former Grainstore brewer, Rory Gibson, in Treasure Island at Tolethorpe theatre, opening this Wednesday and running throughout the week.

Expect adventure, action, buried treasure and plenty of swashbuckling laughter as Rory and the cast set sail on this classic tale.
