A few years ago we had a few days in Bruges and asked the hotel where they would recommend to eat out. They suggested a restaurant called De Vlaamsche Pot. Other diners were tucking in to a Flemish Rabbit stew - it was amazing. So amazing we dined there twice. So I’ve finally managed to get wild rabbit which is on sale at Stamford & Grantham market this week. For every rabbit sale I’ll give you a photo copy of the fremish recipe that I purchased from the restaurant

Chicken thighs are so versatile. Just roast them as in the picture, curry them, put in a paella, or an easy a peasy tray bake. Full of flavour - lots of protein. My thighs are free range and sourced from Soanes. I’m selling them tomorrow at Grantham market with Soanes free range chickens (average price £13 for a medium chicken (probably cheaper than Waitrose and you can taste the difference!)
Also wild venison, free range pork, hogett and Belted Galloway beef. Lots of pies, burgers and sausages etc. Pop down between 8-2pm and say hello. Even if you don’t want anything this week it’s lovely to catch up with you to see what you have been up to! 😀

At Stamford market on Friday morning 8-2 with a good selection of Soanes free range chickens and thighs. Award winning pork pies. This week’s pies are Steak and Stilton and Chicken, leek & bacon. A really good selection of sausages & burgers. I’ve got some Hogget and pork. I’m not allowed to sell wild venison at Stamford tomorrow so PM me if you want to pre order something to pick up tomorrow. The picture is of a wild venison haunch cooked by me - it was lovely!

In every litter there is always one! This little darling has escaped the pen two days in a row. How do I know it’s the same one with a mate? She has a white stripe on the right hand side of her body and is the only one out of 13 with saddleback markings. Thank you to Jayne for the email last evening- I’ve extended the electric fencing this morning along the Exton Road so hopefully that will solve the situation. However once they have experienced the great escape they tend to keep trying 😨

What’s on your shopping list for next weeks meals? I have good selection of wild venison, hogget, pork, burgers and sausages. If it’s too hot to cook this weeks pie is chicken, bacon & leek. There are also award winning pork pies which are great with salad or why not try my free range, smoked cooked chicken. Opposite HSBC from 8 until my ice melts. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler tomorrow.
