Spring has truly arrived at the cottages 🌸

The gardens are bursting into life, with the most incredible display of colour. Our tulips are stealing the show, rich reds, soft pinks, golden yellows, each one standing tall and glowing in the light, while the skimmia adds its deep greens and delicate clusters, bringing texture and calm between the colour.

There’s something special about this time of year, fresh air, new growth, and nature putting on a show that no photograph can quite capture.

If you needed a reason to slow down, breathe, and take it all in, this is it.

An azalea and a wallflower growing out of a railway sleeper, a Montana clematis running wild along the fence, then climbing 20–30 feet up into a birch tree,
and tiny plants clinging to a bare wall.

No perfect soil. No perfect place.
Just growth.

Life always finds a way 🌿

New lambs finding their feet this evening, playful, curious, and calling out for mum.
There’s nothing quite like this time of year.

The river’s quiet, barely a ripple, just the sound of nature slowing everything down.

Back home to Clan cottages.

Martin walked the hoggs down from the hill park today, bringing them back to the fields right in front of the cottages.

Still hoggs for now, they won’t be gimmers until after their first shearing later in the year.

Simple moments like this, just part of everyday life here.
