Shearing day tomorrow! Day 1, ewes and rams are inside overnight so they are dry for the shearer first thing. Shearlings will have to be another day once they are dry as we couldn’t fit them in as well! 🐑🐏🐑🐏✂️

Shearing next week weather permitting 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Will be glad for the sake of the sheep in this heat. Will have lovely clean fleeces available from the following breeds:

💙& various coloured crosses

Whilst giving the ewes a little rear end tidy up today, I collected some Coloured Ryeland fleece samples for analysis. I’ll post the results in a couple of months when I receive them (excuse the exceedingly dirty hands, comes with the job 🫣😆💩)

Why is it, the one sheep with the nicest fleece is also the one that manages to get completely covered in brambles, burrs, thorns, and anything else mucky?! 🫣🤣🐏
