We’ve added something new to Dobcross… ✨

Introducing the Dobcross Trinket Trade Box.

A simple idea: take a trinket, leave a trinket, and enjoy the surprise of finding something unexpected.

The box is filled by the community, so every swap helps keep it going. Whether it’s a keyring, small toy, badge, sticker, or other little treasure, someone else might love what you’re ready to pass on.

Please help us keep it tidy and safe for everyone:
• No rubbish
• No broken items
• No food or perishables

A huge thank you to everyone who chooses to donate their loyalty points to our Good Cause Card in store. 💚

Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to use the accumulated points to deliver a much needed haul of food and essentials to Oldham Foodbank.

Initiatives like this are what make Dobcross Village Store different. As a community owned store, we’re proud that every purchase can help make a positive impact locally.

What a Whit Friday! 🎺

We had a fantastic day during Whit Friday 2026, meeting lots of new customers, catching up with familiar faces, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers for their hard work, and to everyone who stopped by and supported the store. The community store is what it is because of you.

🌿 Dobcross Village Store Membership Just Got More Accessible! 🌿

Following the success of our initial Founder Members’ investment opportunity, we’re delighted to announce that share membership in Dobcross Village Society Ltd is now even more accessible for our community.

✨ Shares are now just £1 each
✨ Minimum investment: 25 shares (£25)
✨ No maximum investment
✨ Still keeping our community first principle of one member = one vote
✨ Membership available to those aged 18 and over

We hope this opens the door for even more villagers to get involved in helping secure the future of our much loved community store and Post Office.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who baked, volunteered, donated and of course ate cake at today’s Teddy Bear Cake Sale 🧸🍰

Thanks to your amazing support, we raised an incredible £400, which has been split between Hog Manor Hedgehog Rescue and Maggie’s Oldham ❤️

It was such a lovely day, and we had a brilliant time seeing so many of you come together and support two wonderful causes.

What an amazing month we had in April at Dobcross Village Store! 🎉

Our monthly members draw took place on Saturday, and we’re delighted to share the winners:

🧸💛 Rescue Teds have arrived! 💛🧸

Our Rescue Teds shelf is now in the shop, giving pre-loved teddies a second chance at love.

Pop in, choose a teddy that needs a new home, and take them home for cuddles. In return, we suggest a £2–£4 donation to charity, popped into the charity pot. Every teddy adopted helps support a good cause.

These teddies may be pre loved, but they’ve still got lots of cuddles left to give.

If you have any clean, good condition teddies you’d like to donate to the Rescue Teds shelf, we’d love to hear from you too.
