Join us for a relaxed summer evening with Angela and Elizabeth of Petal & Twig, celebrating British Flowers Week and the start of English Wine Week.

We'll be showcasing seasonal, locally grown flowers alongside a selection of English wines, bringing together two crafts with sustainability at their heart.

Enjoy three glasses of English wine and a few picky bits whilst Angela and Elizabeth demonstrate how to create a beautiful bouquet. Then, with gentle guidance, you'll make your own arrangement to take home, bringing a little of early summer into your home for the weekend ahead.

A nice little scene from last night’s tasting.

Him and her, no phones in sight, just good wine and each other’s company across a long table.
Maybe we all need a few more evenings like that.

English Wine Week calls for proper English wine.

On Thursday 25 June we’ll be hosting a relaxed, sommelier led English wine tasting at Arthur’s in Aughton, exploring 5 brilliant wines from vineyards across the south of England. Expect everything from fresh sparkling wines to characterful still wines that show just how exciting English wine has become.

Alongside the wines there’ll be cheese, charcuterie and grazing bits, with more English wines available by the glass afterwards and across the following weekend at Arthur’s too.

Friendly, informal and all about good wine without the snobbery.

And if you discover a bottle you’d love to drink again at home, Wine Curators will happily help with orders afterwards too.

June line-up just got better.

A month of long tables, excellent wines, relaxed conversation, and slower evenings.

We’ve added a new one into the mix this month too.
A flower arranging & wine sipping evening with during British Flowers Week and English Wine Week. Expect seasonal British flowers, excellent wines, and a very relaxed evening at the shop.

Our wine tasting evenings include 5 excellent wines, British cheese & charcuterie, Lagom focaccia or sourdough, plus generous grazing bits around the table. Informal, friendly, conversational, and always focused on wines we genuinely love drinking from people doing things properly.

Slowd Wine Bar evenings are a little more low key. Thoughtful wines by the glass and bottle, a down tempo atmosphere, and the kind of relaxed wine bar energy you’d usually travel to Manchester, Liverpool or London for.

The final Slowd Wine Bar evening of the month will also lean into English Wine Week, with a few excellent English bottles open by the glass alongside the usual lineup.

Each event will also get its own post closer to the date.

Hey all. Thought I’d properly introduce myself for those who are new here.

I’m Alex, the person behind Wine Curators.
We recently opened our new shop and tasting space in Burscough and, honestly, the response so far has been a bit overwhelming in the best possible way.

Our first evening with Lagom was a huge success, the upcoming wine tastings are already fully booked, and so many of you have come in for a browse, a bottle, or just a chat. Thank you. It really does mean a lot.

I wanted this place to feel friendly above anything else. Somewhere relaxed. Somewhere you can ask questions, discover something new, or simply grab a really good bottle without any pretence around it all.

I’m always in, usually talking about wine, opening bottles, moving boxes around, or recommending things I’m excited about drinking myself.

We only pour wines we drink, and we drink well.
