Our first Thrive get-together is confirmed

We’re pleased to announce that the first Thrive community get-together will take place on:

📅 Monday 19 October
🕦 11.30am to 1.30pm
📍 Ossett United Football Club

This will be the first of a small number of relaxed taster sessions, with tea, coffee and cake served in a friendly and welcoming setting.

The aim is to give people an opportunity to get out of the house, enjoy some company and meet others from the local community.

These first sessions will also help us understand what people would like from Thrive. We’ll listen to those who attend, gather feedback and use it to shape future activities, including our plans for a regular weekly Lunch & Natter.

We’re grateful to Ossett United FC for providing a home for Thrive and helping us take this important first step.

Leaflets will be distributed today at Ossett Market. They’ll also be available from the Spuddy Licious catering van.

UKFOODBALL on TikTok has done a little review on Ossett. And why not, after all we all love our little part of the world.
But one thing that’s bothering me and Ian is the 9.2/10 score we’ve been given for our Jacket Spud 🥔🥔🥔

9.2!! COME ON, SURELY IT’S A 10/10 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Anyway we’ve been told it’s a national contender for spud of the year, so we’ll take that 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Many of you who follow this page will already know how important food, community and bringing people together are to us.

We’re now developing The Thrive Campaign, a new community project based in Ossett. Its aim is to bring people together, reduce loneliness and social isolation, support healthier lives and create a positive social impact.

Thrive has now got its own dedicated page where we can introduce the people and community partners involved, share our plans and announce future activities.
