A few months ago we were wondering whether people would buy beef directly from our farm.

This week we’re supplying local customers and local shops Aldwincle General Store

If you haven’t popped in yet, Daisy has created absolutely incredible space, with everything you could possibly need, fantastic fresh produce and some delicious looking pastries and coffees.

It’s like what a good old fashioned village store used to be… but with some of the extras that modern customers expect!

Plus, she supports local producers, like us!

Just delivered from Longbrook Farm !
* Rump Steak
* Sirloin Steak
* Mince
* Topside joints
Don't miss out on your favourite- last week the steaks sold out super quickly.

Locally reared, pasture fed, delicious quality.
Please note that the meat is FROZEN because of the small scale of production.

See you soon!

Three months ago I stepped back from my marketing business to focus on growing the retail side of our family farming business and selling our beef directly to customers across Oundle, Thrapston, Peterborough and the surrounding villages (and beyond!).

One of the things I’ve always believed is that marketing is much easier when the product is genuinely incredible.

And that’s where I can’t take much of the credit.

The real credit goes to Sam and Tom, who spend their days caring for our cattle and producing beef that people genuinely want to come back and buy again (and again and again).

This week we’ve sold out of most cuts from our current batch of beef in less than two weeks and have had to switch our beef boxes to pre-order only whilst we prepare the next animal.

So thank you.

Whether you’ve ordered from us, recommended us to a friend, followed along on social media or simply cheered us on from the sidelines, we genuinely appreciate the support.

If you’d like first access to future beef box pre-orders before they’re announced publicly, comment PREORDER below and we’ll add you to our First Dibs List.

Really exciting to see our beef for sale in Aldwincle General Store for the first time.

A huge thank you to Daisy for backing a small local farm and giving people another way to shop local.

You can now pick up Longbrook Farm beef mince and rump steak directly from the shop, alongside lots of other brilliant local produce.

There’s something really special about seeing beef raised just down the road being sold in a village shop. 🥩

Looks like the sunshine is sticking around for the Bank Holiday weekend ☀️

Our butcher is in tomorrow and we're taking the last few pre-orders until 8pm this evening.

We've already had pre-orders for rib joints, côte de boeuf, rib eye steaks and chuck, but there is still time to reserve specific cuts before everything is prepared.

We'll also have fresh (not frozen) stock available from tomorrow, with all cuts back in stock, including lots of steaks and mince for burgers for all those BH heatwave BBQs.

If there's anything you'd like putting aside, just send me a message.

When you think about it, of course what goes into our cattle will have an influence on the meat they produce. I just thought about it in terms of flavour, but there are differences nutritionally in grass fed meat as well!

Now I’m not putting it in the same super food category as a blueberry or some kale, but it generally contains higher levels of certain nutrients and fatty acids compared to exclusively grain fed beef.

For us though, it’s never really been about chasing food trends. We produce beef this way because it works for our cattle, our land and the kind of product we want to produce.

And honestly, the flavour speaks for itself.

Comment BEEF to join our mailing list to keep in touch and see how we produce the beef which ends up on your table.

December on the farm.
The good, the bad and the realities of farming.

December was full on, which will come as no surprise to anyone involved in livestock farming.

Calving started earlier than expected and we welcomed three healthy British Longhorn calves in the few days before Christmas. We also had a difficult breech calving on Christmas Day and, despite best efforts, lost a bottle fed calf. It’s part of farming and one of the harder realities of working with livestock.

Alongside that, we were packing and delivering beef boxes and farm direct British beef to local families across Oundle, Thrapston, Peterborough and the surrounding villages. Thurning deliveries with the children on the Gator were a definite highlight.

As ever, the day to day work carried on. Feeding, bedding, checking cattle and general animal husbandry do not pause for Christmas or cold weather.

Thank you to everyone who supported our family farm, ordered from us over Christmas and shared such kind feedback. It genuinely makes a difference.

A little re introduction as we head into 2026.

We are Longbrook Farm, a family run farm just outside Oundle, Northamptonshire, producing native breed, high welfare British beef and selling it direct from the farm to local families.

Our cattle are cared for daily by Sam and Sam the Stockman, with welfare, feeding and grazing always coming first. I am Emma, and I run the beef side of the business, from orders and packing to answering questions and sharing life on the farm.

We sell beef boxes, individual cuts and ready meals, with local delivery across Oundle, Thrapston, Peterborough and the surrounding villages. Everything we produce is fully traceable and, just as importantly, bloody delicious.

If you are local, value good food and want to support a British family farm, you are very welcome here.
