Brightleigh Farm We sell our fresh farm produce - beef, pork, chicken and eggs through our small farm shop, open every Friday 1 to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.

The down turn in milk price caused us to give up dairying in 1999 which was when the beef herd was established from beef x dairy heifers. We have farmed organically for 10 years and plan to become certified organic in the futu

re. All our beef is produced from grass and grass silage and hay grown on farm. No grain or concentrated feed is used. We are certified Pasture For Life beef producers, www.pfla.org.uk, and we also produce outdoor reared, soy free, rare breed pork and slow grown, pasture raised, soy free chicken and eggs.

Never have I been so happy to put on wellies and waterproof coat! It finally rained this morning. We measured 4.4mm - not a huge amount but enough for the time being to wake the pastures up. Everything was looking a little bit greener this morning. After wearing shorts and a T-shirt for the last few months, it was a welcome change. Fingers crossed for a bit more of the wet stuff and hope that all the fields will be green again before long 🤞

Don’t forget that the shop’s open from 1pm to 5pm on Friday, 9am to 3pm Saturday and 9am to 12pm on Sunday. Fresh beef & chicken plus plenty of fresh eggs. Don’t forget that it’s bank holiday Monday this weekend - come and get your BBQ supplies or roasting joints for a weather-dependent get together!

Chicken 🐓🐓 moving day. We move the whole flock forward on to fresh ground regularly. It’s always a joy to release them and see how happy they are. Since it’s turned cooler, there is a little bit of green grass coming through. Fingers crossed for more rain 🌧️ in the next couple of weeks and it will transform the pastures.

Our young turkeys are out in the pasture at last! It’s a pity that we don’t have any green grass for them but they seem happy. A couple of them are exploring the gobbledego already. This is a mobile perch for them to sleep on at night.

The first sauna sessions are now available to book!!

After a fabulous evening of trial sessions last Friday and a few tweaks we now have sessions available for booking at an introductory price of £10 per hour!

The following dates are currently available to book:

7th August at 5, 6 & 7pm
9th August at 3, 4 & 5pm
10th August at 5, 6 & 7pm
12th August at 5, 6 & 7pm
16th August at 3, 4 & 5pm
17th August at 5, 6 & 7pm
19th August at 5, 6 & 7pm
21st August at 5, 6 & 7pm

We are working on a website and booking system but in the meantime, if you would like to book, please email [email protected].

Pig feeding time in the woods. It’s much cooler in the woods. With these hot days, it’s so much better for the pigs, who don’t have the ability to sweat, so keeping them cool is a priority.
