In the centre of historic Oxford lives the famous Covered Market, established in 1774 to provide a permanent home for the city's untidy market stalls. During the reign of Queen Victoria, the market was extended and covered over, providing an indoor/outdoor feeling to the shopping experience, and each shop now has its own, distinct identity. Unlike today the traders in the Covered Market originally

had a monopoly of all sales to the Oxford colleges, but the same tradition of supplying goods of a very high standard and quality persists. was established in 1948, the oldest established supplier of fresh roasted coffees and fine teas in Oxford and moved from its former site in St. Michael's Street to the Covered Market in 1965, where high quality at honest prices is still our watchword.
