Floral cakes are my absolute favourite to make. Making the flowers is therapeutic for me 😄 And even better, these flowers can be kept as your home decor long after the cake is gone!

Under the sea cake 🐙 🐳

A light genoise sponge with white chocolate ganache and a strawberry compote. Iced silky smooth with Swiss Meringue Buttercream (that’s not too sweet!).

Although there was some last minute stress with the sea animals, overall this was such a fun cake to make!

What’s your favourite cake? 🎂

Hands down, mine is a chiffon cake with fresh cream icing and a fresh fruit filling (probably just cut up strawberries).

Growing up, this was the family favourite for so I’d bake it for every birthday for my sisters. One sister prefers peaches and the other loves her blueberries. And so the tradition continues.

Though we don’t live that close to each other, we try to get together when we can.

This cake was vanilla chiffon sponges with blueberry and elderflower compote, and iced with chantily cream. It was so light we didn’t feel like we were eating much cake… until everything was gone 🤦🏽‍♀️
