Autumn is one of our favourite times to get out walking around Patterdale. The air feels fresher, the paths are a little quieter, and the fells start to turn with those deep oranges, reds and golds.

👋 Meet the Patterdale Team: Courtney

Next up in our Meet the Patterdale Team series is Courtney, our Restaurant Supervisor! 😊

Courtney joined us in April and is one of the friendly faces you’ll find looking after guests in our restaurant.

When she’s not at the hotel, you might find her out on the fells — Blencathra is her favourite hike — and, by her own admission, she’s a little bit addicted to coffee. ☕🥾

Our bar, The Place Fell Inn, is named after the fell that rises above Patterdale and the views that surround us.

Although, depending on who you ask, there may be another story behind the name too… we’ll leave that one for a bit of banter at the bar or some local folklore. 😄

With dramatic fells all around, it’s a relaxed place to settle in for something from our seasonal bar menu or enjoy a refreshing drink while you take in the setting.

A few Lake District touches make it feel right at home here, from the name above the door to a pint of Wainwright.

Muddy boots, walkers and dogs are all very welcome.

How is it October already? 😅 The end of the year has a habit of creeping up on us…

👋 Meet the Patterdale Team: Paulina

If you’ve stayed with us recently, you may already recognise Paulina and her very warm welcome! 😊

Paulina joined our reception team in March and is often one of the first friendly faces you’ll see when you arrive at The Patterdale Hotel.

Originally from Poland, she has called the UK home for the past eight years and is currently learning to drive too! 🚗

Whether she’s checking you in, helping with a question or simply greeting you with what we think might be the warmest smile in Patterdale, Paulina is a lovely part of our team.

We all know what the Lake District is like — one minute you look out of the window and it feels like the rain is here to stay, and the next the clouds lift, the light changes and it looks like a beautiful summer’s day.

That ever-changing weather is part of what makes Patterdale so special, especially when the sky reflects across Ullswater.
