Hillside Honey

Hillside Honey Award Winning locally produced Honey from two amateur beekeepers in the hills of Pen*stone.

Hillside Honey is the award winning project of two amateur beekeepers, Richard and Stuart who began keeping bees on the rolling hills between Pen*stone and Millhouse Green. Despite making many mistakes along the way we now have our own honey available for local sale! Our bees forage on the local fields and hills amongst the wildlife of the Pennine Trail. These vast surroundings as well as the ever

changing seasons mean we can offer three bespoke types of Hillside Honey:

Spring Wildflower: A pale honey with a floral aroma, it is collected as Spring falls and Summer blooms with nectar from Snowdrops, Crocus, and Willow Trees. Summer Flower: Gathered at the height of Summer, this strong, soft set honey consists mainly of Apple Blossom, Blackberries, rosebay, willowherb and Clover. Autumn Heather Mix: Collected in early September, it contains all of the summer flowers enriched with Heather from the local moors. Not a pure Heather honey, it is darker in colour and richer in flavour due to the Heather in our local environment.

£4 per 1/2 lb jar.
£7 per 1 lb jar. Our honey is cold-extracted, coarse filtered, and bottled in a simple, effective way to provide the award winning honey we develop.

We have just bottled another 60lb of our Summer Wildflower honey and have another 200lb in the warmer that should be ready for bottling in a week or two.
We will also have some soft set honey soon. (My particular favourite)
Our honey is now available in Cafe Crème in Pen*stone and as always, in The Huntsman pub in Thurlestone.

Double filtered, nothing added, perfect on toast. I love the smell of honey in the morning.

We extracted around 100lb of honey last week. It’s been cold filtered through a fine filter and we are hoping to bottle it for next week.
