A beautiful morning neighbour is ploughing, the birds flying and sheep grazing. We are lucky we still have plenty of green grass as the weather gods have given us rain up here in the North. Although it is good to have the hot sun again on our backs.

Summer time is a busy time between topping grass and tending my garden we have made quite a few rugs that will be for sale soon and the carder has been busy while it's still with us, making lots of lovely Gotland wool batts. John regularly cleans the workers and barrings to keep her running smoothly. July is nearly over and up here in the North it's cooler with a little much needed rain. What will August bring, we will have to wait and see.

For sale due to retirement, new home needed for our beautiful woollen carding machine. Built in 1920 Platt & Co Halifax fully restored in 2006 and used to card various wool for the past 20 years, in full working order.

Flock all sheared for this year, Nimble was the last of the girls to get naked big thanks to Chris Raven. Will be skirting and sorting the fleeces over the next week and will have some for sale suitable for felt rug making.

Just the right weather up here in the North for a bit of grass topping. Due to a reduction in flock size we have way too much grass. Will keep John busy for a while. Still waiting for our shearer, 🤞 soon.

Another beautiful morning in Cumbria, skylark singing high above, swallow and house martings returned. May has arrived in England.
