SPONSORED WALK SUPPORTER SHOUT OUT TIME:
Thanks to Traybakes Ltd for donating the snacks - made with our eggs 😉, and Aqua Pura for the locally sourced water - both will be needed.

We're just about ready for our Ullswater sponsored walk. We call it The Lakes Loop because we set off from our packing centre in Stainton and walk down to Pooley Bridge to start the route to Glenridding. Our sponsored walk is in aid of Cancer Research UK (CRUK), which we already support with donations from the sale of our Laid With Love eggs. If you would like to sponsor this event, please follow this link: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/team/ullswater-walk-1

'Tis the season of mellow fruitfulness.'
How about trying a delicious Plum Clafoutis recipe? https://lakesfreerange.co.uk/british-plum-clafoutis/
Did you know that plums originated in China and are some of the earliest fruits grown by humans, and that they have key health benefits too?
1. Supports heart health: Potassium regulates blood pressure, and antioxidants reduce inflammation.
2. Boosts brain function: Plant compounds improve blood flow to the brain and support memory
3. Stabilises blood sugar: A low glycaemic index and fibre content slow down sugar absorption.
4. Improves digestion: Fibre and sorbitol work together by adding fibre and drawing water through your digestive tract.

What are you doing tomorrow? We're always pleased to support our local emergency services and were delighted to see a special truck call in to see us. The visit was from the Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service

Firefighters from the Penrith Community Fire Station called in to collect some eggs in preparation for their OPEN DAY TOMORROW. Some are for cooking and baking; others are for prizes. 😉🍽🍰🍨🥚🍳 If you are looking for something to do tomorrow, why not call in.

Exercise is important for a healthy body – that’s one reason we chose a sponsored walk to raise funds for Cancer Research UK . Next Saturday, (5th) we will be walking the Lakes Loop - our Ullswater Walk from our Stainton factory, down to Pooley Bridge, then along the Ullswater Way to Glenridding, back via Ullswater Steamers to Pooley Bridge before walking back to the factory. Cancer Research UK is the charity our Laid With Love brand supports, and this is just another way we can support the charity too.

After their big breakfast event in February, Penrith Young Farmers chose us as one of their meeting visits to learn more about the scale of our business.

Fields Person and club member Jess Elliman helped answer their many questions, and it was great to see such genuine interest in what we do. They are a curious group of young people and a proactive club.

Well done on hosting the next Northern District Field Day and completing your epic 24-hour charity cycle challenge, covering an impressive 1,048.2 miles.

WHY ARE EGGS A HEALTHY CHOICE?
There are many benefits to eating eggs.

Not only do they keep you feeling fuller for longer – they have fewer than 100 calories and are packed with protein and vitamins, ideal for weight management.

Muscle Maintenance: Eggs provide all nine essential amino acids, which promote muscle protein synthesis.

Brain & Liver Function: Did you know egg yolks are one of the best dietary sources of choline, a critical nutrient for cognitive function, memory, and liver health?

World Photography Day: The bonus of a mobile phone is that you can capture a moment in time whilst on the go. But that's not always the case. Have a look at some of our favourite pictures – including the flora and fauna of our hedgerows.

Thanks for these pictures Tracey Errington and Rod Ireland Photography

Summer holidays & nice weather = picnic time. This year, picnics are far better than BBQ's for obvious reasons. What could be more satisfying than a wander down to the lake and a picnic packed with protein? But what would you choose? Hard boiled eggs or Scotch Eggs? We sampled the Scotch eggs in Cranstons Butcher + Maker and they were delicious.

What a fantastic foodie week. Traybakes Ltd, is just down the road from here - a short hop for deliveries of eggs for their brownies. We've tried them on several occasions and can totally agree with Rosemary Shrager who judged the National Chocolate Brownie Professional Baker Competition at Newport Show. She made Traybakes the winners. Richly deserved.

CRACKING GOOD EGGS CRACKING GOOD CAUSE

We are thrilled to announce that we have embarked on an official new partnership with Cancer Research UK. We donate 2p per dozen Laid With Love eggs sold to cancer research charities and have donated over £65,000 to cancer research charities since we launched the brand.

Now we are excited to make Cancer Research UK our primary charity partner. So, as well as well as providing a protein and vitamin packed option for your daily diet, we are also fuelling the fight against cancer.
