Founded in 1975, the company has established itself as the largest grower of swede in the UK. We are also the largest independent grower of strawberries in Scotland and alongside this also grow raspberries, blackberries and arable cereal crops. We grow, pack and deliver our produce 365 days of the year and pride ourselves on the efficiency, consistency and quality of our produce. Alongside these e

nterprises we also operate a fleet of 14 lorries, some of which are refrigerated and undertake transport contracts out with the delivery of our own produce.

πŸ‘‹ Meet the Team: Maciej Kolasinski. I’m Director of Fruit Agronomy at Stewarts of Tayside and I’ve been here since 2022.

πŸ“ My favourite part of the job?
Every day and every year is different. There are always new projects and new challenges, but the best part is working outdoors in nature, watching tiny buds grow into sweet, ripe fruit and seeing the results of all that hard work at harvest time.

🌱 How did I get here?
I’ve been working with soft fruit for over 20 years. I started out as a tunnel worker and machine operator, then worked my way through supervisor and manager roles by learning the day-to-day running of the farm.

πŸ’» A fun fact about me:
My degree is actually in Computer Science and Business Management, but these days my office is much more likely to be a polytunnel full of strawberries and raspberries. I swapped coding for crops, although I still use plenty of data along the way! πŸ“πŸ“Š
